CO2 cartridges - best before ? - and lifejacket maintenance

its a tiny leak on the manual sprung valve .....

Give the valve a squirt of silicon spray or vaseline.

This morning there was a slight reduction ... but still more than capable of holding a person up .....

Will try a few 'dry' ways to cure it before introducing silicon etc. but tks for idea ...

Its a backup anyway ..

It has no cap ... XM Quickfits do not supply a press cap (they didn't when I bought these anyway !) .... but my Crewsaver has a press on cap - but I doubt that seals as its only pushed on.

The leak was very very slow anyway .. and is now stopped after working the valve.

Surprised there is no cap to keep stuff out. If it is very slow it doesn't matter, how long will you live in the water anyway? And, of course, the tube is there for a reason!

I'm going to see if I can find suitable caps or even 3D print some ...

Funny I suppose because the LJ's are folded and tube is inside - never really thought about anything getting in ...

I was more thinking of when it was deployed stuff, probably mainly water, could get in.
