The hand painted name on the transom of our boat has seen better days. Does anyone have any recommendations for a local traditional sign writer who could rejuvenate it for us ? Were looking for a painted finish rather than a vinyl set of stickers. We’re based in Kip at the moment

Wilma MacKenzie in Tarbert, a very talented glass engraver, has been known to do some sign writing on boats. Perhaps worth giving her a call.

Telfer Grsphics

Real signwriters but quite expensive.

Specialist craftsmen like this who maintain a website but go to great lengths to hide where they are based are not marketing an affordable service for someone wanting a small job done, there is a painter in our village who can do a bit of signwriting but too far from Kip to be worth mentioning.
Call painting contractors in your area, they will have a contact for that kind of work.

Thanks for taking the time to look that up, it should help th OP, as long as he can afford them. My grouse about their website still stands though, only a mobile phone number, no address on their contact us link, the only clue I could find was the location of a job in the Lincolnshire area. I suppose if they admitted they were in Glasgow they might not be getting work in the East Midlands. I don't do facebook and since I did not need a signwriter thought it might be better to let the OP do his own googling.
