Clyde Scuttlebutt meet up. April

Nice looking boat. Did you head out from Largs on Saturday morning? We had he privilege to follow you out (or a boat very similar)

She's not mine .... :-( ... but I wish she was! .... cos she's nice!..... but someone mentioned a Twister on the Clyde ... & one of my FB Pals had just posted a few photos of a 'Twister on the Clyde' .... so I just had to post/share them here..... ;-)

It looks like we will not be as far away as we would like for this W/E.

Are there berths available? We could probably turn up as a MoBo but that's a bit pointless.
My forepeak should be free. I might have one other with me but that's not a problem. Let me know if you're interested. I don't mind if you get a better offer.

Children

A newcomer to the Clyde was asking me whether children are welcome or not so I e-mailed the Watersports Centre to ask them and this is what they replied:

"Children are allowed in the bar area as long as they are with their parents/guardians. We have an area at the front of the lounge that can be separated off by a curtain, they would need to sit in this area."

So it looks like any of you that were using children as an excuse(:D) for not turning up now have no excuse!

Hope to see you all there.

The quiz is going to work well if we are separated by a curtain:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If the meet is at the Cumbrae Watersports Centre, their pontoon is a wee bit broken at the moment.....

I'm amazed what's left of it is still floating!!

I've e-mailed them to ask what the situation is. I'll post as soon as I know anything.

Hot off the press
"We have a team from Seaworks arriving today for the week to try to fix it. Can you please contact us the Monday before your arrival and we can let you know if it is usable."

As an idea!

Anyone! .... interested in (I think it's a good & sociable thing to do) having a communal meal onboard on the Friday?
I can accommodate myself +3 in the main cabin (she's only 23'!) ..... but if anyone else wishes to provide the (a more accommodating) venue/table I can provide a large pot of Rendang (you just have to try it ... & it's not hot!), with others providing the rice, sides & we all bring drinks before retiring to the CWSC for the 'main-event' of the evening.
Numbers closer to the 10th will help me with quantity & size of pan/bucket .... & I'll/we'll have to be early-ish to make it to the bar for 19:00(?)

unless someone's got a yot with multiple heads, it's likely to be a bit fragmented John.
Wot with buckets of beer and rendang - the mind boggles, if that's the correct word.

Sounds a bit too organised for me, things my end seem to be a bit of a last minute rush and somewhat of a "lets just see what happens"

I can almost always provide:

The 'stop-yer-goin-pills' & some 'anti-hurt-pills' ... but Rendang' doesn't have that effect ..... & my personal choice for alcoholic poison is Rusty's and/or Pear Cider ..... or any of that LUV-LEY Port someone once sent up for one of our gatherings ..... as it was V-nice!

Anyway in-prep I've just fitted a new set of strings for me gee-tar & manufactured a new 'gate-lock' for me-mast .... + new VHF antenna (a Mk3!) & NASA head-unit fitted & tested correct ... so I'm getting there slowly! ;)

News from my man in the know says the pontoon is now connected to the land but there are gaps in the seaward pontoon.
