Clyde Scuttlebutt meet up. April

My prep on the Boat has been curtailed for a few days.

Accident with the angle grinder ........ :( :o

But if you’ve ever had a turnakit applied, your tendon inspected & cleaned & then the wound cleaned ..... all whilst you’re AWAKE! ... you’ll know how I feel ..... by-ek it hurts! ..... & I only whimpered once ..... I can now write the SOP on how to be STOOOO-PID! on a Friday! :o

& the bad thing was .... she told me what she was going to do before she did it ...... & I really wish she hadn't!

I'm definitely not as tough as I once thought I was. :(

Ouch! I once damaged a finger (got it between a hammer and an anvil; my finger lost!), and I recall watching them stitch it up. Worst bit was the local anaesthetic injection in my finger-tip; that REALLY hurt. After that I could get interested in the knots the doctor was using to tie the stitches :)

Actually the worst bit was listening to the little girl who went before me - sounded like they were amputating her leg without anaesthetic. I think she had a splinter in her finger (or something similar).

You probably have the nurse with the needle like a 6" rusty nail pumping antibiotics in your backside still to come :D

I really don't like needles!

...... thanks for the warning! ;)

So on a plus note she said I was up-to-date with my 'Jags' so I'm OK on that point .... :) :)

Apart from 'sticking out like a sore thumb' & getting in the way it just throbs like a large throbby-thing from the town of Little Throbton ..... hmmmm :(

But I just have to get back down the boat to complete some jobs ...... & I can't drink cos it's a 'school-day' tomorrow.

Are we there yet!?

Are those who can ... ready for the 'big event'? :D

I'm just back from a 1k+ round-trip of the UK. :(

Had a-rub-of the stones (many), & a chat with Old Molly/Meg/Sally  downt-well!

Me-thumb is-a tad stiff & I haven't got me-sails back yet.

I was nearly calling-in on our Dylan (well I was in Hull  :( ) ... but only nearly! (not-a nice place.)

& I've sorted what I thought was a leak!!!!

Yes that's the plan. Eamonn tells me they re still working on the pontoon at cwsc but hopefully it will be ok for us. I should get confirmation next week. Hope to see you Tom .

We've been very lucky this year pushing the doo back to May. The pontoon was broken and the weather has been ****e. It can only get better for next week.

Not since I heard from Eamonn last week and he said they were still working on it and a new gangway was being delivered next day. I used it 2 weeks ago and there were notices saying use at your own risk but I thought that was always the case. Probably just some arse covering. I was told to contact them on Mon coming so I'll do that and as soon as I know I'll post it.

As an aside- though you're not heading for Arran this time. !
Brodick moorings are in place, though seem to be "out in the bay" by about one row more than they were previously.??
Ditto Loch Ranza and pontoon.. in place.

have fun this coming week-end :-)
