Clyde Scuttlebutt meet up. April

Is it just me or is anyone else wondering wtf some people here are on about?

Our BR knows 'code' .... so that's me knackered!

But my best guess/translation is:

I'm wired to the Moon....... ;) &/+ I'm just about to be/have been 'shafted' .... :(

& I'll 'toot' at anyone! .... :)

Lift-In tomorrow! ...... yikes!!!

I will/float & propel ..... & I do have new 'bottle-screws' .... but I was pleasantly surprised when my single cylinder started first crank after the layup.

What have you been doing over the winter.....

Mine are all completed..... Erm hopefully :p

I'll save you the effort of reading it all - Friday the 10th of May, Cumbraes Watersports Centre, then possibly Portavadie on the Saturday.

I wouldent bank on the CWC for the meetup.
Since last week the pontoon has seperated into three sections and due to an exceptionally low tide and incorrectly situated pontoon the tilting gangway lower end has dropped off the end of the pontoon and is down in the water, preventing access to the pontoon from land.
Shirley did tell me about three wks ago that they were waiting for some Swedish mob comming to re-anchor the pontoon, but this was before it seperated and the gangway dropped off, I can only assume they havent came yet.
I am back down there tomorrow until mon or tue so will keep you all updated on the situation.

Yes, I was going to mention that also. I was tied up inside the outer section of the pontoon briefly on Monday watching the Youth Nationals - but phoned first to check if it was OK to do so, as the rest of the pontoon is a bit of a mess. Certainly no way ashore from there currently.
Whether it will be repaired quickly may depend whether it is just rejoining sections, or more likely a more expensive / significant job. Cumbrae are very professional though so they will certainly do a proper job.

I hope to come and show off my new (1969 boat) which is a Twister 28. She gets wet next monday 8th.
How many pages (11?) do I read to find where and when we are meeting?

There seems to be a few nice Twisters in the Clyde:

The pontoons were all taken ashore and refurbished (new galvinised steel ends, new rubber buffers, new timber strakes and ladders) a few months ago by some company from Oban.
Appears to be when they were resited that the problems began.
I will enquire what the plans are this wk end.
Nice pic John, where was it taken?
