Closing uk marinas

Draw bridge is up here. Following the first on island person to person transmission, the Isle of Man is closed to non residents as of 9am tomorrow. You’ll be turned away at airport or ports. I’ve already emailed civil defence stating that if the see a Welsh dragon on the horizon.....open fire without delay!

theres even talk of a complete lockdown not being out of the question Whether you are a resident or not,

i went down the boat today to check everything was OK.....don’t think I’ll be down again for a while. Would feel strange taking it out for a spin....can’t really explain why, certainly I could without risking others but it just seems unnecessary with all that’s going on.

Anglesey has closed it's beaches. My plan to ride it out on the hook this summer far from the reach of the virus in tatters with the likely hood the boat wont even get a lift in thanks to the hordes of tourists thinking work from home and school closures equates to summer holidays. I'm seeing more tourists than at the height of summer. wtf?!

Loads of people came down to the Hayling Island beaches today - the beach cafe even featured on the local news
This is not what Boris intended.

@BruceK - saves me a fortune in fuel and needless boat buys. :ROFLMAO:

Plus the garden is looking good and I think I am on top of my home jobs - first time in 5 years! woohoo..

2020 boaty season is as dead as a monty python parrot hereabouts
More worrying is the lack of facilities in North Wales to cope what’s going to hit us
As Bruce knows
Today all the beaches/ car parks and Piers have been announced as No Go ( Anglesey)
Marinas will follow
Maybe not in ‘lock down’ as it were
But close enough
Skeleton ( no pun) crew
IE, essential
Security etc
In fact ‘Essential’ is the Word
Essential
Travel
Supplies
Fuel?
Staff

pleasure is not Essential
Survival is!

rough Passage ahead Folks

What I'd say is that in my marina in Spain, boat owners are prohibited from accessing their boats (even for essential maintenance). If people continue to flout the advice and carry on if nothing has happened then I can see the UK Govt introducing the same sort of restrictions here (a bit like they will for pubs and restaurants).
Isnt there legislation going through Parliament on Tuesday, once done the screws will turn on the subjects of this country

Due to all the masses of morons visiting the parks and beaches at the weekend we will have no option now but to lock down.
I don’t understand why it’s not sinking in. Even my 17 year old son went on an hours drive to Portsmouth yesterday with 3 mates in the car.
We were furious when he returned home and gave him a huge bollicking to be sure he keeps distancing.

Why are you a moron for visiting a park or a beach?

I would have.
Life must go on.
Isolate the vulnerable properly. Not try to isolate everyone to protect the vulnerable badly.
My wife is in the High risk group. So when I go to the supermarket to get food I don't want it full of selfish/stupid people carrying the virus who think it's OK for life to go on as usual. And if my wife does get ill, don't want the hospital to be full of the same people who have found that it's not just people over 70 that get ill.

Honesty, I can't believe I'm having to spell this out to you.

Honestly I can’t believe you don’t understand what I just said. Isolate the vulnerable properly.
If she is in the high risk group you either don’t come into contact with her or don’t go out and get food.
You can’t rely on the outside world being sterile and I’m afraid you are being the weakest link by going out.
I truly hope she’s ok.

Nor me. The Government has introduced two, quite separate measures: 'Shielding' of the vulnerable and 'social distancing' to slow the transmission rate down in order to 'flatten' the peak in numbers of other people who will have to be treated all at once by the health service.

They've explained it, thousands of articles have been written about it, diagrams have been drawn and animations of how it works produced. But unbelievably, there are still those who don't get it - three people in a car for an hour on an unnecessary journey, who then return to three different homes, is not social distancing, it's actually the complete opposite. The fact they went to the beach or a beach is irrelevant.

Agreed re sitting in a car.
But there is nothing wrong with being outside and keeping a distance.
PT is a pleasure.
