What do others use to go up the mast when single handed?

What's a caving seat? Sounds promising.

Rather like a PVC nappy.

What's more dangerous than swinging round up masts.......that's right,
swinging round in caves and potholes. Have a look in your local mountaineering shop.

Sorry to drift, Ladyinbed, but is that a spinnaker flying from your mizzen (in your avatar)??

Ladder is great for the mizzen but i don't fancy it for the main.Although topping lift tied to the top rung and a safety line it might be ok as long as its flat calm.
Worst i did was going up a 60' mast in Bay of Biscay on mast steps with half the rivets loose or missing! crows nest was loose once i got in!
