I had the hatches, portholes, washboard covered with a reflective film to reduce uv degradation of the interior in the sun.

The material has crinkled and I need to remove it.

The film comes off but leaves the adhesive behind.

Any suggestions?

I’m talking about six hatches, eleven portholes, saloon hatch, washboard etc!

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

Tony

Sometimes olive oil does the job, followed by fairy liquid. It all depends on the type of adhesive and of course, not wanting to damage the perspex.

I would be quite careful using sticky stuff type removal sprays without testing a small patch as I have found it marks easily on some surfaces but toothpaste or Astonish might help to clean up ?

I had exactly the same problem on a new fixed windscreen I had made; left the film on expecting that it was protecting the perspex until I had the boat launched three months later. We tried everything, and eventually resorted to Meths - very much against the advice of the supplier ! The perspex sufferred no ill effects and obviously it was quickly washed off with plenty of soapy water.
