Cleaning PVC

My winch handle holders, made of thick PVC, have developed a sticky, brownish goo on the outsides. Any ideas about cleaning ? I have tried several different cleaners without much luck.

Put in washing machine with towels,it does work but disregard clunking noise on spin cycle.
Gungy tools and metal bits also do well with a go in the dish washer quick spray with WD40 after wards and come up good as new!
Not recommended on the marital harmony front!

Sounds like UV damage, probably best to cheuck them away and buy new.
