Cleaning an Impeller

for the log and in situ, no.
the bodgers way is to lie down on the pontoon with a long handled sweeping brush and poke it about under the boat, hoping the bristles will come in contact.
Watching this being demonstrated, it did occur that i should offer to jump back on the boat, start the engine up and motor forwards and backwards thus rotating the impeller and more arms be exposed.

I am assuming you mean log impellor, not raw cooling water impellor on the engine.

I have also assumed all impellors can be removed from inside the boat - based on my analysis of two examples - Stowe and Raymarine. Others with vastly more experience will soon tell me I am wrong.

The Stowe one required a bare foot pressed over hole to allow both hands to be used to clean the impellor. The Raymarine has a rubber flap which slows the water intake down but certainly doesnt stop it, but it only takes a second to push in the dummy.

This is so simple and routine, I am beginning to wonder if there is more behind your question or I have misunderstood it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
