I need an inflatable tender to roll up and store in a locker for the odd occasion I am anchored off etc. I already have a good Avon for going to and from the moorings so I bought - sight unseen on Ebay - another Avon dinghy. I knew it was an old black one circa 1970s but what I was unprepared for was the condition – it is exceptional. The hull is almost spotless with only one patch. The inflation valves are brass! All of the floor boards are there in the delivery box still with the original numbers on the boards. The hull does not lose pressure although the seat does lose some. There is even what appears to be the original bellows and, of course the canvas bag to put it all in.
The problem that I have is that although it does the job I want, it seems a crime to roll it up and use it only on rare occasions. It occurred to me that it may suit a classic boat better. If anyone is interested please pm me and I will send some ‘photos. This is NOT a money making deal as I am happy to sell it for what I paid - £50 – but only to a good home i.e. it must make a set with a classic boat, otherwise it is set to share the forepeak locker with the spiders.
I realise that this should really go on the For Sale Forum but hope that given my semi altruistic intention I will be forgiven on this occasion
