Clamp on meter

I guess it is ac/dc then. Just doesn’t mention it in the ‘product information’ list at the start, which is odd. Might get one myself if that’s the case - looks good value.

Your wish is my command. I've just checked it between 0 and 2A. No reference meter to hand, so I compared it to the current display on the bench power supply I was using.

Results: horrible at first, until I thought to zero it, after which it was very good all the way up ... only the second decimal place ever differed, and not by much. I'll estimate +/- 2% or better. I'm impressed, and pleased my my purchase.
Thank you.
I will recommend my friend to buy one.
I may need to borrow it.

It definitely is ac/dc. I bought it a year ago, when dc clamp ammeters were harder to find, although it seems they are more readily available now, as JD mentioned earlier. I have been using this pretty much daily for odd jobs and it works well and hasn't fallen apart yet.

There is no doubting the value of a clamp on meter, my DiLog 6402 was bought several years back, but I use it several times a year aboard. The ONLY issue with Hall effect detectors is that you must zero out the background mag field every time you use it.
