I have had an Ambassador Stripper for 13 years and it proved its worth on 2 occasions, cutting through creel lines in no time. I am getting a different boat soon, and am keen to fit a similar rope cutter. I am tempted by the Darglow Hydroaxe which looks very similar. I find it attractive that it looks easier to fit with no requirement to drill holes in the propeller hub. It looks like the Hydroaxe clamps onto the shaft as opposed to being driven by the propeller hub, if so can they come loose? Current boat has a 3 blade Kiwiprop feathering, new one has VP 2 bladed folding. Any comments and experiences welcome (hopefully). The Hydroaxe is slightly cheaper as are the modified anodes, but its more the simplicity of fitting which is drawing me.
