Chinese Fridge

I do know that there are Chinese copies of Danfoss refrigeration compressors on the market. As usual, testing shows some to be good, some less so. If these boxes contain the good ones they are well worth buying.

Don't know but why don't the Chinese employ a proper translator?

"1.Please allow 1-3cm error due to manual measurement. Please make sure you do not mind before you bid.
2.The colors may have different as the difference display, please understand.

3.Without battery Fridge can use 24V, and with battery Fridge can not."

Maybe there's a new market opportunity?

Not new - I make my marina fees by providing a document checking and correction service for scientists whose first language isn't English! The reason they don't use such services (and there are plenty around; I get work because of the added value I provide, not the basic English service itself) is because it doesn't come cheap; it attracts a decent professional rate per hour. Checking a document like this wouldn't be worth my while in bank fees, never mind overheads.

As with most things sold worldwide chances are that the Chinese product can be just as good as those that are made elsewhere... or are made in China but are sold by household names using their brand, usually at a multiple of what they pay for them in China. I buy all my tools from there. (So does Lidl)
I would check about which gas they are using; it might be no longer legal in Europe. Also, the internal height is quite low unless you intend using it for storing things horizontally.

More information and a much lower price here -

Errrr

Somehow I managed to make the clicky button thing work after a few too many grape juices, and now apparently there is one on it's way to me.

Mr BlueChip it seems incredibly cheap, altho it's the 15l one ( didn't spot that until after the click ), so thanks for the linky.

I'll let you'll know how it behaves when/if it rocks up :)

I've not come across that site before, however when I try to click on "buy it now" or "add to cart" nothing happens :(

This model is only 15 litres while the one in your original posting was 20 litres.
I repeat what I had indicated about the gas. The gas seems to be R134a. If I were you I would try to find out what is the current situation regarding its future; will it be banned or not?

errr

see my last reply.. too late .. ooops

From what I've managed to find out, 134a will be banned from 2022. If it lasts that long for the price I'll be really impressed!

I only spotted 15L afterwards, but tbh at this price I'll happily take a gamble and I can fit a bottle of white horizontally so can't all be bad.

I’ve bought loads from that site and also a similar one www.newfrog.com.
They are great for sourcing spares as long as you are prepared to wait a few weeks.
I got some new concealed hinges for my chart table lid and some push button locker catches for just a few pounds.
They send frequent e-newsletters with specials and some of those are really hard to resist.

Amazing value for money but I'm not sure about the horizontal aspect of these chinese fridges. make sure you screw the lid tight on the milk!

At less than half what my Waeco CDF18 costs, I agree its worth a punt. Let us know how you get on.

You would need an inverter to run it from the boats batteries, plus that looks like it's thermoelectric.

No way that's thermoelectric! It has A+ efficiency rating which I'm pretty sure is impossible with thermoelectric.

But...

As said you'd need to inveert to power adds inefficiency.

It says 5-15c that's rubbish for a good fridge. Food should be stored 0-5C. Not personally sure I care if my milk is 4C or 6C. But if it can't go below 5C it will struggle in a few years.

Front opening fridges are less efficient than top.

The Chinese thing quotes some impressive insulation switched off. 72 hours from frozen to -5c I think it said... Aldi thing won't do that!!
