Seateach has moved to Thornham Marina an rebranded, now Ocean Chandlery. Same helpful people, but less accessible unless you use the marina. Unles you sail a cat you won't want to be there as it dries to

I should say, in my defence, that when I posted about Seateach originally in 5/16 they were still based at the station. Agree on the new site—much nicer buildings, and Ocean Chandlery have been very helpful to me recently, though as you say access is slightly more inconvenient. I try and use them where possible—usually pretty competitive on price too!

Ocean Marine ( ex Seateach ) is worth supporting in their new place at Thornham boatyard, but their inventory is much smaller than at the old place by Emsworth station, and I'm not sure they have kept up their main attraction for me which was lots of loose stainless fastenings of all kinds...worth phoning to ask if this is what you're after, I think they have kept their old number - 01243 375774.

As for places to move to, Emsworth is top of my list, or as Old Harry mentions somewhere to the north of the A27 towards Midhurst.

If trying to get to Force 4 at Donnington on the Witterings road, to avoid the Chichester bypass traffic jam use the old main road which runs through Emsworth and Southbourne ( sorry I don't have the road no. to hand just know it by heart ) and take the turn off via Apuldram labelled ' Dell Quay ' - at the T junction go left for Donnington, not right for Dell Quay.

At the end where one meets the main Witterings road it's left then very soon right into the Force 4 car park opposite the Porsche salesroom.

The short Apuldram route is a small windy road so one needs to be careful, speed freakery would be unwise.

It's a fantastic area, the drive from Lavant towards Midhurst with the valley to one's right is achingly beautiful, whenever I go that way, which is often, I think ' if I had foreign guests this is the bit of England I'd show them '.

On that route, the Greyhound pub a few miles south of Midhurst is a good one for food.

Seajet-ABC at Mill Rythe Lane, just before you get into Hayling Yacht Companies yard have a large selection of S/S fastners sold loose.

In fact, sold by weight. The first time I have come across this practice, it seems very competitive pricewise.

Thanks ! I know the turn off to Hayling Yacht Co. well, having kept my Carter there for a year, and the recent little chandlery, but it's hard to keep tabs on all these places, a s/s fastenings supplier is always very welcome, I'll tell my chums at the club too. :encouragement:

Can confirm that Seateach/Ocean Chandlery do indeed still have the "spinny thing" full of loose s/s fastenings at reasonable prices. Never once failed to find what I was after there.
