Had a day out on the boat yesterday, didn't go far just out from Chi marina, out to sea on to Portsmouth then back to Chi marina.

What a pleasure, still busy with racing etc. but not enough sailing around in circles to be a problem to navigation which made the trip much more fun.

Still quite a few boats out there but a lot less than last weekend.

Roll on the winter :-)

We were out on Saturday. Mostly anchored at East Head. There looked to be about a million yellow-sailed dinghies over by Hayling Island. But otherwise, things did seem to be starting to thin out a bit.

Did see "Houston" rafted up to a rag n stick in a mooring buoy in Itchenor on Saturday with trademark Old Glory flying from the port quarter.

We sailed back from Yarmouth to Chichester on Sunday, plenty of sail boats about. But as has been the case all year, no more than a handful of mobo's about. This year I would say that there has only been about 25% of the usual number of power boats out on the water. So what is it, recession, price of diesel, what?

I hadn't noticed this phenomenon, but I am just about the least observant of people. We've used our mobo about the same as last year and when I last refueled a couple of weeks ago I paid 78p per litre as opposed to over 80p this time last year.

I used about £50 of petrol in my mobo Saturday, out for a few hours but mostly in the harbour so not that expensive.

It isn't that expensive for a day out. Would spend more than that in the pub! I really don't think there is any less usage of mobo's, perhaps it is because when you go out it is too windy for us :-)

Yep, we sneaked up to the 'Ship' at Itchenor under the 'Land of Dixie' banner. Wow, wasn't it busy with all the racing going on through the moorings!

What about the good looking young girl at the helm of the sailing club taxi, she went everywhere on the plane! Pretty sure now speed limits only apply to larger mobos.

Yeah, my friend lost control a bit watching her flying through the moored boats, but she was a bit tasty.

You will find that Itchenor sailing club think they own the water from Itchenor to Pilsey, so they can do as they please. Have you ever anchored just below the Southerly moorings or been on a visitors bouy at Itchenor when those idiots are about with their dorries?
