Don't know the distances sorry, but why not just phone them up to book a berth, that's what I did last time I was going there and they were v helpful on phone.

Cheers

Aha and fortunately I seem to be surrounded by French colleagues at the moment so I can expect to be having dinner with M. Capitainerie ?
Looks like a very short trip at best at the moment, so unless its an easy 35 knots both ways , I probably wont bother...Has Littlehampton got an exotic and continental flavour?

Sometimes worth keeping a good mile offshore on the corners - the French don't look after that bit of water very well ;). We sat in the race a few weeks back out of gear and found the tide taking us NE at just under 6kts! That's quite some flow.

Went there once on an August bank holiday weekend.

It was very very busy. Horribly busy.

We were all crammed in like in a tin of sardines.

And then someone would want to leave. Nightmare!!

They also ran out of diesel.

I'd give the August bank holiday weekend a miss.

I think in a fast mobo you may as well go 3 miles out round Cap de la Hague.

I went round a couple of weeks ago, predicted absolutely flat calm seastate so didnt bother to plot a course and headed east inside the Basse Brefort cardinal (loads of depth).............

it was like a F5-6 breaking waves ! current was 6 knots against us.

Moved out , flat calm and 2 knots with us.

The current eddies round significantly so you can get caught with the flow against you if within 2 miles.

St Vaast gets my vote :)
pdf download of cil if you need it but remember its not BST

Yes, I like St Vaast too, but then who doesnt ! Was only going to go if we can make a very fast trip, but looks as though there is some muck coming in from western channel, so maybe we look again when we have a few more days. Cant be a**ed to spend hours bashing about for a short stay there.
