Cherbourg - closed?

I seem to remember reading somewhere recently that Port de Chantereyne is closing for a week to enable the contestants for a large race to gather. I think it is the first week of May. Can anyone confirm this please?

yes it is closed due to a big raggie race from 25th April till 17th May.

Dielette much better bet than Cherbourg IMHO. If it's shopping you're after get "Serge le Taxi" to run you up to Les Pieux. There's a "Super U" supermarket up there and the prices are only pennies different to the Hyper in Cherbourg. Restaurant de la Paix does good grub at decent prices.
