No not really - there just seem to be a couple of them each day and its handy for Para as he doesn't have to go down too steep an incline to get onto the boat then. It also coincides with his morning ablutions and we really could do with those taking place ashore

Re: Keys

Thanks for the advice. The boat comes with a built in conservatory/greenhouse so we should merge with the crowd. The diet sounds interesting, cauliflowers and supermarket mackrel, is this recommended fare for west coast sailing? Might just stick with barley and wheat based products.

Re: Keys

If this diet doesn't suite you never fear.. if you donate them to the Good Ship Claymore you will I think earn many browny points and preferential treatment by the commodore... These items will probably make for a slightly more peacable atmosphere aboard Claymore.. Oh another thing bring a torch and a map (no not a chart) as there was a reported incident of late night rambling.

Re: Chentleman\'s Cruise 2005

Thank you Long John for the PM about this thread - I'd missed it while away on my travels.

Sounds good and would like to be there. However, having had her bottom scraped prior to re-epoxification, Shard is still registering 17 on Ardrossan Roger's soggyboatmeter, so it sounds as though she'll be still be drying out by that time.

I'll sit tearfully by the shore while you all sail off.

I\'ll never again refer to Claysie\'s pink fluffy slippers!

That would be much appreciated. On the social/political front, being a household committed to moving towards equal opportunites, how do I break the news of a chentleman's effent to Mrs Sgeir?

I won't get away with "I'm chust away to Ardrossan for a few days to redo the deck fittings".

Any suggestions?

I have some pink fluffy slippers if you wish to borrow them....

Plus having realised I have made a pigs ear of my 2005 diary I think I may be around for the 29th if of course you will accept my late entry for this event.. It aint half going to be chilly on Seun tho.. If of course I can get the deck fittings water tight... otherwise will be a case of very wet bunks urrgghh.. If so I could offer a bunk (preferably dry) to someone who is short of a worthy craft.. bearing in mind there is zero head room and apart from full length bunks not much else!

[/ QUOTE ]Might be cheaper to attempt brazen lies.

I cannot use "The coalman's horse bolted and tipped its load over the tram points so I'll be a bit late. About four days." Cos I've already done that one. Mind you, it was a while ago, but the teacher didn't believe it either.
