Cheep chart plotter ...

and with a small amount of training, encouraged by food and water which was withdrawn after it crapped once or twice, Fiona quickly got the idea and can give audible navigation signals of one cheep for starboard and 2 for port.

Fiona seems a most suitable name as others have used such a name to describe useful pieces of kit?

Sadly, as with modern printers, it was the cost of the consumables which were his downfall. That and the disposal of the old ones. Personnel had to 'let him go'.

Pigeon pie ....

we have advanced recycling technology which cures the disposal problem and an assured customer who is a major pie manufacturer. one of whose agents I believe you may have had on your vessel this last weekend but perhaps he did not bring a sample? .. very unusual ...

Curious. After observing him complain of the rations served, he withdrew to the forepeak and one of my crew fancies he heard the sound of a pie being munched. That would explain the feathers we found on the cabin sole whilst clearing up after his hasty departure.

now that is very unusual .. rather like people recently engaged at cadbury's chocolate factory at bournville who are told to eat as much as they like (they soon stopped), he hasn't been known to do much munching. his normal modus operandi is to chuck a few tins at you ......

Sorry to disappoint

but yon Fiona is a feller, full pedigree name Busting Forashitmister, speaks only pidgin, has no nmea interface, and as for teaching it to make babies, I can't help, but I could show you how to wring its neck.

Actually, it looks like a racing pigeon, judging by its ring, go faster stripes on wing and rear spoiler. So you could sue the owner for decrapping costs as well as board and lofting.

Dead on course.

It's likely to be a dead racing pigeon once it gets back to its loft. Pigeon fanciers aren't going to give house room to birds that take time off in the middle of a race.
