Cheapest place for a lift out and power wash in the Solent at this time of year

How much!!!!!! Why didn't you have it lifted at Rk marine opposite it's berth , I bet Swanwick was even cheaper than hys, I cannot understand why anyone uses hys at that price. Didn't you phone around for the survey lift.

Paul, it was organised for me, I didn't have any say in the process, other than to pay!

One of the problems of being a Hamble virgin. :D

You need it here fot a year , forget the muddy waters of the Bristol Channel , you will then talk the forum language quite well after 6 months here, you can also get a cheap winter rate here at Swanwick . As for the crash pad midweek , they have some nice tents at these outdoor centre .

I phoned sealift in Cowes to enquire about about a lift and was informed that it is closed for a refit, furthermore it is then being shipped to Brixham and is not being replaced!!

I thought it rather strange as Cowes must be one of the busiest places on the planet.

Interesting... do you (or anyone else) know if its going to installed in Brixham?

Nice thought Paul. Would love to stay on the Hamble but it really is not practical, so hoping for a couple of weeks, then off to the mud.

We had heard that a sealift was going into Brixham, but hadn't realised someone was loosing one !. Chatting to the dockies in Brixham it is due to be delivered in August and up and running by end of September or early October. Due to be run by MDL staff apparently. Is going in at the end of E pontoon in the open space inside the wave screen - I think they have already done some of the preparatory work for it's arrival. Will be interested to see the pricing !

They've got one in Haslar too though, so maybe they think they have the area covered??

If they price it competitively compared to services on the Dart at Darthaven and Noss, where many Torbayers end up if they want a quick lift, scrub and anodes, then it could do OK. Particularly if the Marina staff will do the whole job as part of the deal without the owner or a n other having to be there if the boat is moored at Brixham.

Haven't read all the posts so this may have been said but the main Sealift operation is now at the end of the hammerhead at Haslar marina.

Oops - just seen that the last few posters made the same point
