Just in case anyone is interested, there is a Turbo 36 for sale in Southampton,
It's an early one, with the 255's in it listed at £45K but most likely obtainable for £35K, possibly less.
One owner from 9 Months old, it's ratty externally and looks as if it's been neglected for some time but the pictures on the website are current. The interior is dated but in good condition.
Described as mechanically perfect, I was concerned at the oil in the front of the bilges. (where you lift the companionway steps to access the front of the engines)

She's no good to me, I don't have enough experience to assess whether it's worth getting it surveyed or not and in any case, I don't have the time to do all the work but maybe of interest to somebody purely because it's so cheap.

It can be found by Googling Turbo 36 for sale in Southampton.

I don't want to be shot down in flames for posting this, obviously if it does need huge amounts of mechanical work then it's not a cheap boat! Just giving everyone a heads up as I've certainly never seen one obtainable at such a low price before so might be worth a look for the right person.

I used to own a Turbo 36 with the very same maroon colour scheme

Pound for pound the best boat I've ever owned. Yup this one looks as though nothing has changed since the day it left Oundle and its going to take more than a few quid to bring her up to date. Huge shame that Fairline never managed to properly replace the Turbo 36 otherwise they might not be in the position they are today

M, for a moment I thought your pic was taken from the ad of the one for sale that the op mentioned.
Then I googled as he suggested, and understood that the pic must be of your old boat.
Chalk and cheese spring to mind... :)

Well I took this pic of my Turbo in about 1991 so I guess she probably looks as tired now as the advertised one does. Anyone guess where the pic was taken?

I was called to look at a windlass on a visiting 36 about 1990in jersey,it had stopped working,I went in the chain locker to find the spare props had cut the cables, they were lucky it hadn't gone up in flames.

Didn't Nigel Mansell once own a maroon Turbo 36?

Deleted User , was yours called "otters way" ? If so i remember the article in MBM many moons ago, some great shots where you're crossing the wake of a corniche, on route crossing the channel if i remember rightly. I think i saw Otters Way moored in Swansea in the summer, and it looked to be in a nice condition. Great boats (though i obviously am biased :) )

Yes you're absolutely right. IIRC the photo shots were taken on a MBM cruise in company and the Corniche was owned by a mate of mine. Very pleased to hear that Otters Way is still in good condition as we saw her many years ago in Port Solent looking a bit sorry for herself. Btw the name Otters Way was chosen by the first owner of our Turbo and we never understood what it meant!

Yes the Turbo was a great boat. It was our first real seaboat and being idiots who didn't know any better we took her out in all sorts of sea conditions and she never let us down. That plus the Tardis like accomodation inside made her a fantastic boat for N European cruising. Yup of all the boats we've owned, the Turbo is the one that we remember most fondly
