Having just recovered from seeing the current price of Nitromors - over £23.00 for 750ml - I thought I'd pass on a relatively good deal I found;

1 litre of paint stripper for under £8.00 from Wilkinsons.

No connection other than being a tight git. :)

Nitromors used to be good - not so in the last few years, perhaps a change of formulation? £23 is not a justifiable price. Just paid £8.99 for a litre of un branded stuff. Seems I could have saved nearly a quid! :eek:

Although I normally buy Nitromores from a wholesaler (Stax) where the 2.5 Litre can is around £25.00 +Vat I would suggest buying it from somewhere who sells car paint to bodyshops rather than full retail.
The same is for Acetone (which I use a lot of) whereas chandlery's sell it in tins at a ridiculous price, an ordinary high street shop which sells supplies to hairdressers (for using on nails) has it 50% cheaper and even cheaper if you can get into a wholesalers of hairdressing supplies. The cheapest place is France where acetone is on most supermarket shelves alongside white spirit and is only Euros 3.5 for 500 mm.
I also notice that Travis Perkins now sells Acetone in an Aerosol Can, which is very useful.

I went to eBay for paint stripper after similar disappointment with Nitromors. About £28 for 5 litres of wicked stripper. It does say on the side for industrial use only but it really did the job.

Called starchem synstrip ps-50

Acetone in an Aerosol Can, which is very useful.

An avg. for acetone here is £ 5,40 per litre, "chemically clean", from most handy-man suppliers.
Spray can cleaners have been around for years, known to the auto industry as Brake Cleaner. Not pure acetone but effective - and supplied in high pressure cans to really wash stuff away.
