Cheap outboard?

I have an idea.

When we were in Thailand one of the nicest experiences was a river trip in a 'long tailed boat'. A huge bus/truck engine is fixed to the stern on a pivot, a very long tailshaft is used to get the prop in the water at a sensible angle, it all looks hopelessly precarious and works wonderfully.

Example here:
Typical huge diesel outboard engine on a Thai longtail boat

So I thought I could do the same thing with our strimmer/brushcutter. Replace the metal blade with a sharpened propeller and we can use it to zap the brambles in the wood and navigate the dinghy. Should I paint my ear defenders navy blue instead of yellow for a more nautical look ?

I have a similar chinese 2 stroke though for two years.
High revs to get it to engage so loud, but it was cheap and used at least weekly, / daily in the season and still starts 3or 4th pull. Does what it sys on the tin. Repalced a Honda 3.5, which seemed attractive to "borrowers" oft left devoid of fuel, and at the last, totally beggared. No one seems to want borrow my new one.
If I want quiet I can always row.

I have had one and sold it on v quickly. You can't rely on them as the components are fragile to say the least - for the same price look for a second hand Yamaha /Mariner 2hp. Just as light, very repairable, parts still available - brilliant little motors.
I bought a 50cc chinese strimmer from a reputable dealer. Strong but noisy. The original bevel gear didnt grip the shaft, they sent me another one! The tap to advance plastic line holder worked but fell apart. Bet it wouldnt take much to convert it in to a Thai “longtail”

Easy fix to get it to engage at lower revs....did you scrap your Honda 2
3?
