Cheap Generators

I saw a two-stroke petrol generator in CostCo recently. 240V 750VA output, 12v charging output (don't know what current), about the size of a pc monitor, all for around £80 plus VAT.

Probably only good for light service, but backup charging capability for under £100 can't be bad.

Usually a good selection of little gennys advertised in E&M, with new prices around £85 inc VAT for 900watt. I think the 12 volt output of these little units is probably very close to being an actual 12 volts, so it won't be very effective at battery charging (where you need around 14 volts), but you could always run a mains charger off the 240v output.
