Cheap Diesel Heaters

70.9p - have just called up one place. I have had it cheaper than that from the other location but it's further away.

Red diesel price will vary wildly based on what duty you pay and the profit someone decides to add. A quick Google suggests it's consistently under 50p right now
That’s what I found when I googled it, but is that the price fuel merchants are selling it for in larger amounts (say 500 litres minimum)?

again it varies wildly. Premier give berth holders fuel "at cost" which can make it cheaper than turning up at a random fuel dock which are both more expensive than a mobo having a 10,000 litre delivery. Of course the mobo will not get that at heating duty so while their fuel is cheaper it will definitely cost them more. Clear as mud and twice the fun :)
I will say I plucked the 1/3 out of the air based on the previous post, my main point was definitely that you can choose zero duty if it's for heating but I'm pretty sure I paid about 60p at 80/20 in Premier back in December.

The premier in portsmouth is ran by machine and not seen an option to enter any split :(
Annoying as it was cheaper to buy forecourt diesel.

...apologies to OP by the way, we seem to have gone off on a tangent. Suffice to say, if you run it on forecourt ‘white’ diesel, your savings will be much less.

About £85 on ebay . Very quick delivery and fairly easy to set up. You will want a good place for the exhaust to exit and the provided pipe is not that long.. You will also need a 12 v supply that will provide about 10a during start up. The exhaust outlet is underneath and a bit awkward. Its difficult to get the corrugated pipe to bend through 90 degrees so you have to either put on a 90 degree bend or lift up the unit somehow.
A bit noisy but effective up to a point. The exhaust gets very hot so I think the 10kwh per litre output is compromised by the exhaust losses.. ( the exhaust on my oil central heating is hand hot). for convenience I think the electric fan heater wins out
The heat ftom the exhaust still goes onto the room.
