Cheap Botnia Targa 31

Bearing in mind the use that will have had, I'd say that was a fair price. Probably a good buy though, as it will have been well maintained. I suspect there will be a bit of remedial work required to bring it up to 'cruising' standard.

Been boarded by her twice when based in St. Katherines Dock /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
It does seem a lot of Boat for £70k and she will have been well maintained.

Slight fred drift I know, but have you guys seen the new Nordstar Patrol 40 that should be out this year. Very tempting if you like this style of boat, and possibly just different enought to the Botnia to get it past swmbo??

Compare a ford focus 1.6 or whatever 8 yrs old 30k miles, owned by vicars wife etc and an ex Bill squad car with 200k miles what would the comparison of price be ?

Boats should not be any different.

Yes, I also think it's at a relatively low price but the clue as to why could be in the word "Commercial".
I hazard a guess that there may be certain "home comforts" missing or the finish (no pun intended) may be a bit rougher.
Mind you there aren't many "home comforts" on a leisure version anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

This seems a good opportunity to me. Having seen them up close - they're moored a couple of hundred metres away from home, and I've been boarded by them a couple of times, the boats are in good nick. There isn't much to break on them anyway - and I say that as the owner of the 25' version. (Giving rise to the comment from one of the police on boarding that it was like'getting into a Tardis in reverse' - OK, size isn't the only thing you know.)

I assume this will be the oldest of their 31s as the AD41s are the oldest engines fitted to these boats I think.

I'd have a look if you have any interest.

on passage once from chatham to london in a bit of a blow and taking a pounding, one of these flipping things came past at a heck of a lick, seemed to be slicing through the waves. I was right down to about 6 knots and it was planing no problem. Looked really impressive. Never been on one but the look like excellent boats.

Great buy if you could keep the Police logos and blue lights on the boat. It would scare the hell out of any bolshy rowers or dozy yotties and no abuse about wash either /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry to go with the drift...

Looked at their test report on the new 40 (only in Finnish at the moment /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) on their web site.

They had IPS600's (435 bhp), full tanks, six onboard with gear and managed 41,5 knots, which seems decent.

Design looks a bit easier on the eye that Targa's, I have no konwledge about their performance in the rough, but should be ok I guess.

I have had a cabby in a couple. They go like stink.

Wessex Marine state in their literature that they do not cancel sea trials for any weather conditions.

Yes I loke the look of it. When we were in Guernsey last summer with the MBM cruise, there was a very nice Targa 42 in the Marina. All the men on the cruise stopped to gaze at it when they walked past, but the swmbo's seemed unconvinced! One of those who seemed very interested was a certain Mr Byart of this parrish!
