\"chavs\" on Sky One

How appropriate that the Thatcher government produced the word "yuppie" and the Blair government has produced the word "chavscum".

It all comes from trying to turn the working classes into middle class as part of government policy.

Re: \"chavs\" on Sky One

There are several explanations as to the origins of the word. One being that it originates from being from Chatam in Kent, which does seem to be popular with 'Chavs', but it also seems to be a Pikey type word for children or immature young adults. You need to wear lots of Burberry, bling and chuck anything resembling a brain, into the dustbin. Oh, you also need to have a total lack of respect for anything, albeit other people or property.

Re: \"chavs\" on Sky One

I had the unfortunate experience of having a traffic accident with a classic chav last weekend. I was coming out of the minor road so it was possibly my fault (have to be careful what I say). Would have made a great comdey sketch. No innuries to either party.

The 3rd party jumped out of his red Vauxhall Colibra screaming "It's a limted edition... This is going to cost you"..He was almost as red in the face as his paint job... He even had a burberry cap on.... He eventually worked out that this might be a money making opportunity and offered to settle without recouse to insurance companies for £2,500. He explained that he had a mat who "does cars and fings".

Needless to say I gave him my (Saga) insurance details and left it to them... They (Saga) have not heard from him yet so it may even be that he was not insured.

Apart from being really pissed off with myself. (it was one of those split second lapses that you cannot easily explain.. hope it isn't an age thing). It was quite a funny expetience.

PK.

Unfortunately We Seem.......

To be the Chav capital of the world here in Chatham or should I say chat'um.
On any given day in Chat'um tarn cen'er you can find a couple of dozen Chavs all are dressed in the same mock designer clothes, if you added all their IQ's up you wouldn't reach double figures, any girl chavs over 18 are pushing prams, boys are dressed in hoodys - baseball caps so that you can't actually see their faces, they all carry the latest mobiles, are on benefits so don't work.

Bottom line is they are the best advert for compulsory castration that ever was?

Those charming high-bred lassies at Cheltenham Ladies College claim the birth of this one.
Somewhat dejected at the lack of male talent in Cheltenham the local lads are disparagingly described as "CHeltenham AVerageS". /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
