Well, I berth at Chatham Marina and was down there yesterday, but I had not seen any work had started. There is room for an extra pontoon at the end of the existing block (far end of the photo) and the pontoon plan had some lettering missing to allow for this expansion. This will be good news as it will relieve pressure in an already crowded marina. I can recommend the marina and just advise to apply immediately as they will not be many spare in the near future.

It is interesting that they are apparently putting a pontoon in the river

"The development also includes a new pontoon, which lies alongside the marina’s Historic Dockyard – an 80-acre site featuring museums, galleries and warships from the Age of Sail"

Would this be just for short periods to visit the Dockyard or longer stays I wonder?

I think that may be a deceptive bit of PR-speak-waffle and not mean 'in the river' at all, the marine is sort of alongside the Historic Dockyard
There already is a long river pontoon alongside the Dockyard, it's a separate business called Victory Moorings. Unless I suppose perhaps MDL have bought that too.

They may think it is sort of alongside, but it is a long flipping walk!! Worth it at the end, but hardly adjacent.
