Charts for old Raymarine A65

When I tried to update my Navionics charts and subscription for my Raymarine A65 chartplotter, (the old, non-touchscreen one with the pushbuttons and rotating knob, not the MFD confusingly endowed with the same name), I discovered that it is "no longer supported". I'm not yet ready to bin this otherwise perfectly serviceable item and spend hundreds of Euro on a replacement, C-Maps would be my next choice for charts, but their website is not very informative as to whether or not they supply charts for this plotter. Can anyone give me any advice about this, or suggest an alternative source of up to date, reliable charts?
 
I don’t know the A65 specifically, but generally older plotters only supported one type of chart. You should certainly check the manual, but I expect it most likely only works with Navionics.

The A65 can only use Navionics CompactFlash (CF) cards. I believe these have now been discontinued.

Thanks guys, I just found my manual. It says "..charts are available on Navionics Compact Flash Cards....", but does'nt mention, either negatively or positively the availability of other chart suppliers. I know that Navionics is no longer available and wondered if anyone knew of another supplier. If what PVB has opined is true then my plotter seems to have been relegated to the back-up function of just supplying me with lat/long.

There are "Navionics CF" on eBay - both new and secondhand. But you'd need to check very carefully that they'll be compatible with your A65. The manual says it's compatible with Navionics Gold and Silver, which are very old formats.

I have found that I have a Navionics Gold flash drive chart,UK and Ireland, which was bought for the (old) Raymarine A65 plotter. Obviously, it's old, but if it's any use to you, let me know.

That’s strange as my Navionics account is for my Simrad NSS evo3 although the card works equally well in an evo2 and Lowrance HDS gen2.
 
The root of the problem is that my plotter is an out of date push-button model from the early 2000s, the type fitted to every charter boat I have been on from 2004 up to about four years ago, while the ones you mention are relatively modern touch-screen ones, and Lowrance and Simrad share common ownership.
Cartography suppliers I have contacted have unanimously said that they cannot supply what I need, as the A65 is "no longer supported"
Resulting from my researches I believe that my plotter, sadly, has had its day and it's time to start planning for a replacement, involving NMEA2000 protocols and networking etc. Meanwhile I have received an offer which hopefully will allow me to see out the season with the current one.

Strange that you have been told it is no longer supported. As far as I am aware, the original c series and subsequent a series run the same software. Granted, they won't run navionics gold or platinum but should run Navionics+ which is the basic version.
 
The A50d I had on my old boat was updating Navionics+ online up to a couple of years ago on CF card. That was before Garmin got hold of Navionics though.
