Trying to findout what runs and what doesnt on the new Windows Vista.
If anybody is successfully running any of the main chartplotters ie,
Maxsea V 10 on
Maptech/Rose Point Chart Navigator Pro
Maptech Offshore Navigator
C-map ECS,
or any others
on Vista please post and let me know what and if there were any problems before I take the plunge on a new laptop which will obviously come loaded with vista.

C-Map NT PC charts are not Vista compatible, even though MaxSea version 12.6.3 is.

You can make your vista pc run xp using a virtual pc, the software required for this can be downloaded free from www.micrsoft.com/virtualpc
anything that runs in xp will run on the virtual machine

You might also be able to force the application to run in compatibility mode; but don't know if this will work

make sure you have a minimum of 1gb ram

hope this helps
