Chartering in November

We're doing a 10th anniversary trip in November - just me and she. Requirements are - hot / beach / able to swim without getting cold. And preferably direct flight from Zurich, but that rules out a lot, so not absolutely essential, but we are only going for a week so we don't want to spend too much time in transit. We are considering either bareboat charter or relaxing resort with diving.

I had originally proposed Greece or Turkey when we were planning for September, but now that it has shifted to November I don't think it would be warm enough.

So. Where to go? Options are Maldives for resort + diving, or Seychelles for chartering. Carribean is sort of off the list because we've been there and done that.

Questions - any other options we should consider? Either for chartering or resorts?
- what will the weather be like in Maldives and Seychelles in November?
- does anyone have experience of chartering / sailing in Seychelles in November?
- anyone know of small chartering companies in Seychelles? Moorings and Sunsail seem to have only 43-44 foot monohulls available.

Ta in advance.

Thailand? But it's a long way to go for a week.......

Gulf of Aqaba for diving? Security situation's a bit iffy, mind you

I think you're right about the Med in November, and most of the charter operations shut up shop in October anyway, iirc.

Thanks. Will look at Florida. Any suggestions for charter companies? Neither Moorings nor Sunsail have bases there.

The Canaries are nice in November though the water is a bit chilly for swimming. You say you have 'done' the Caribbean - it's not all the same, which bits have you done?

Martinique (ashore only - honeymoon), BVIs, St Lucia + St Vincent & Grenadines.

We'd love to go back to BVIs and SV&G, but with the kids and probably another family on a catamaran charter. For an anniversary trip we'd prefer to go somewhere we haven't been before, rather than think, "oh yes, we were here with the kids a couple of years ago".

I have to say, Maldives are looking more and more likely.

Been to Maldives twice in November. First year rained once in 10 days and the second year rained half the week! Very good diving and food on Filitheyo, good all inclusive but not so great diving on Komandoo. Believe there was a sailing trip out of Komandoo.

Good diving and imagine you could sail in the canaries. Cheaper option.

Likewise sailing and diving Andaman Sea Thailand.

For diving (dayboat) but no sailing and nicer Egyptian resort perhaps El Gouna Sheraton. Sailing??

Maldives

Tail end of the monsoon season in November. Should be Ok but, as others have said, can be changeable. Water will be warm but not as clear as December / January for diving. You should be able to get some fantastic deals though
