I like chartering in May and I like to actually sail rather than chug between islands/ harbours.
Croatia is good but not enough wind generally - same for Turkey and Sardinia
Last two years we have been to the Cyclades which have good winds but want to go somewhere different
Any recommendations for a place to charter with a good chance of winds ?

Chartering is popular in the Baltic, with weather roughly like ours but more settled. Wide choice of destinations.

I'm not a sailor and I have no experience of chartering. However, we do a fair bit of cruising in the Aegean in early summer, and I don't think there's a big difference between the winds in the Cyclades and along the Turkish coast, especially from Didem to Ayvalık.

Croatia a month earlier. We've been there twice in April and had plenty of days of wind... Per two week trip we probably had two to three days of light or no wind. 8 to 10 days of 10 to 30 knots and 2 to 3 days of > 30 knots. This past trip, this was actually two days of 45-50 knots (one Bora, one Jugo). April seems to be the changeover month between the winter and summer winds.

The other advantage is that there are very few boats about. Anchorages are usually empty and we have no problems getting into Marinas if for some reason we needed to (50 knots!)
