Charter recommendations for Islay and area?

I've been tasked with putting together a trip to Islay and surroundings for next year. Never sailed there, so have no previous charter companies to contact.

Any recommendations for a company? Looking for 40 - 50ft for a week.

Flamingo at Crinan have a couple that might suit:

I've used Crystal yacht Charters in Craobh Haven a couple of times and found them really good. Nice chap and well found yachts. I think they have a Jeanneau 44 and a Bavaria 47.
I'm going up there end of next week. Brilliant cruising, fabulous scenery.

Flamingo operate out of Craobh as well.

Used Flamingo and would happily reccommend them, speak to Muir, he'll sort you out.

If yo go to Lagavulin, do the tasting tour. It's the best value tour we've been on, and a fun harbour to get into

Crystal only have BAV 36s and 37s and the OP specified over 40ft.

Isle of Skye Yachts are an excellent company but about as far away from Islay as you could get.

If Flamingo and Argyll Yacht Charters don't have anything suitable I would try Alba Sailing at Dunstaffnage. It's several hours more sailing though with the Sound of Luing tidal gate between you and Islay.

Whoops sorry, you are correct - my information is outdated. They do indeed now have a 2010 Jeanneau 44i berth and a 2009 Bavaria 47 - my apologies.

You might as well start at Largs (or elsewhere on the Clyde) and nip round the Mull to Islay. You save a lot of travel to Crinan / Craobh / wherever on the outside.

I'm taking a bunch of Scots and wannabe Scots on a seaborne tour of the accessible distilleries so Lagavulin is definitely on the cards.
