I can't find the original posting to thank all those who replied for all that help, so thank you all.

I will re-plan the navigatorium because I will use a tablet as the repeater and thanks to the wonders of Raymarine RayControl app I’ll be able to read and control the chart plotter without sitting next to it up top on a ten day passage under windvane steering.

This is what Raymarine tells me:
“The eS75 display has WiFi built-in to it, so you can use the RayControl app – free download from our website, works on most tablets and ipads – to control the eS75 in the cockpit. The app gives you full control and enables you to plan routes etc. remotely. The app displays and controls anything displayed on the eS75 from the tablet/ ipad, including AIS data.”
Who’d a thought it!
Now, can anyone recommend a tablet for the job?
Many thanks

I use an old iPad 2. It works fine but for a while I couldn't work out why the tablet refused to find the plotter wifi at times. It turns out that I have to close down the app, easy enough, instead of just using the home button. I've no idea if this occurs on other tablets. One problem with my old iPad is that the pixels don't match the plotter signal well, so the image is slightly less sharp. This doesn't really affect its usability but it annoys some people, and may not occur with newer screens.

I use an iPad as well and works well below as reapeater to cockpit Raymarine plotter but had been thinking of acquiring a cheaper Samsung 10 inch to avoid risks of damage to the iPad and mounting behind windscreen on bracket . I think someone on another thread said that 165GBP would secure you a Samsung so maybe search for threads . Don't have any issues with image stability. Went on radar course at Raymarine for the day which helped to learn about pairing etc with iPad as well as use of radar of course .
