Any reccomendations, for a very good 24volt, 60amp three/four stage charger, must be a goodun?? And where to get it?

I have had trouble with my 80A Mastervolt and had to have a big argument about getting it fixed under warranty. Actually the boat (launched 1999) is on its SECOND Mastervolt and this one has an intrinsic design defect. One of the power supply electrolytic capacitors is incorrectly rated and tends to become leaky over time, particularly at higher temperatures, and the unit won't then start. A well-known problem with these chargers but still they try to make the customers pay.

For that reason I would never buy another Mastervolt product.

I did have a small 20A Sterling that gave excellent service over five years - did exactly what they claimed, I was delighted.

Looks like a good spec and in particular it says "Compatible with every kind of generator" which is plain and simple. Mastervolt (and, presumably others) give you the supply limits and expect the non-electrical yachtie to sort it out (which is absurd and unacceptable). With technology today, it should be possible for a charger to work from the most primitive supplies and that is important if you are travelling around (which presumably you are, in a boat? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)
