Finally got round to fitting the new non-asbestos lining for my Pansy MkIII. Seems to be some sort of clay. Anyway, reached the point where the instructions say: "...Allow these panels to dry until they shrink. They can now be manovered into final position. Cut the corner of the cement sachet and apply the contents to the joints".
The cement seems to have gone off, it resembles brittle epoxy. Tried hot water but didn't seem to do any good. No way I'm going to caulk the joints with this. Not that it was a generous amount in the first place, mind you.
So, what can I get instead? Some kind of special heat resistant "fire cement" I reckon? Any chance of getting this stuff at B&Q's?
