If I read it correctly, you can now visit Jersey, a covid test is required on arrival, result normally within 12 hours, providing thats negative, then free to roam. A second test required then if still there after 7 days.

Guernsey are still effectively shut, but rules are expected to relax on May 14, providing you come from an area with 30 cases per 100,000 or less, then a test on arrival, cost £25, then same as Jersey. I can't post a link, but this info comes from the BBC Guernsey website. I'm assuming the same will apply to Alderney but will check before setting off.

All in all, good news and at long last we can hopefully start planning a trip slightly further afield to some of our favourite cruising grounds. ? ?

Jersey borders are indeed open , currently as you say test on arrival at the harbour, isolate on boat for approx 12 hours pending negative result and your good to go, second test day 5 and third day 10 both up at the airport. Over last two weeks we have been here it has gone very smoothly and all test results back in under 12 hours. Arrive later afternoon , get tested before 6.30 and you wake up next morning with email test results and no further isolation. All assumes you are coming from a Green area and not overnighted in amber or red in last 14 days.
Gets less demanding from May 28th with those who have had both COVID jabs , one test on arrival, no isolation and no further tests .
We live on mainland and keep boat mainly in Jersey , they have managed their borders extremely well over the last year or so.

Cheers

It seems that the rules differ depending on where in the UK you and your crew are coming from. Green is PCR test, Amber requires 2 PCR tests 5 days apart and 5 days quarantine.

In Guernsey you need to quarantine until your first test is returned negative, ( or a lot longer if positive!) and then you can circulate , second test at 7 days.

Same as for guernsey as alderney is part of the same Balliwick
Yes, I’m aware of that but I doubt Alderney has the same testing facilities as Guernsey, so the whole process is likely to take longer than it would in Guernsey. If all the tests are collected and sent off say, once a day, it’s possible you could be confined to your boat for well over 24 hours before receiving the test results. In Braye harbour that could prove to be quite uncomfortable.
But this is guess work, the actual situation could be better, or worse.

Alderney currently will freely accept only residents from the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
I believe it is possible for people from outside the Bailiwick to visit Alderney but must adhere to strict testing and self-isolating conditions. Probably best to enquire before embarking, two weeks before wanting to out of self-isolation.
