I'm considering installing a furling headsail on my 20ft Pelin Caribou trailer sailer. Do I have to get new sails or do the furling units use existing conventional sails? I currently have a No.1 Jib and a No. 2 Genoa. If the furler unit can use an existing headsail can either of the sails described be used with the furler?

Looking forward to some Northern Hemisphere advice.

furling headsails are usually cut a lot flatter than no furling headsails, this will mean that your sails will crease when furled up but is not a major problem.
The main question is weather your headsails are hanked on or go up a feeder, if they hanked you will have to have your sails adjusted or get new ones, if you use a feeder it will probably work.

Would I be correct in thinking that the adjustment /recutting would only be required on one sail, the bigger Genoa which would offer much more in size adjustment when installed on a furler?
