Hi,

I assume you have tried the chandlers on the internet???

I do find the following usefull:
for ropes & rigging: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.jimmygreen.co.uk/chandlery/index.html> Jimmy Green</A>
electronics: <A target="_blank" HREF=https://www.allgadgets.co.uk> allgadgets</A>
general stuff: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/category_list.asp>Chandlers</A>

These are not necessarily the best.but they have been very usefull & have good service & prices.

I second Gillingham marina (extremely helpful, but not the cheapest) and Pirate's thingy (also v. helpful - if you can find 'em...).

There are two 'regular' chandlers in the area, one at Gillingham Marina (rather expensive but very helpful) and Pirate's Cove. To find the latter, go through the Medway tunnel out of Chatham, left at the first roundabout, first right onto the industrial estate, and it is one of the first warehouses on the right.

There are a number specialist shops around, for example at Medway Bridge marina just above Rochester bridge. These include two paint importers, Azko Nobel (International) and Alemmi Colori (Skippers) - I found the latter very helpful when we did a total repaint last year.

Are you by any chance Suse who we met in Brightlingsea?

Hi Lynette - yes, I am! The boat I'm in the process of buying needs everything done, which is a bit daunting, but cheap and with sound hull and rigging - and it's that or nothing, I'm afraid.

What are you doing and where is the boat at the moment?

Suse...if you get to Brightlingsea, give Alan Beale @ Heron Yacht Services a call,07836545509: Most competetive supplier on the East Coast with a massive range......Just a very satisfied customer, no other interest. Regards Tony W.
