Chandlers in or arround Glasgow

@steveeasy, give McLean Tools a call

McLean Tools

they have a Marine section with a limited selection of ropes and warps. It's often overlooked and very handy for your trip being based in Cappielow industrial estate which is literally across the road from James Watt Dock Marina.

Now you don’t happen to know of any one with a magic wond by any chance? Crew far to eager to go sailing and I’d much prefer to stay in bed after my utter soaking from the heavens yesterday. welcome to Scotland😂

I'd stay in bed until Monday or Tuesday next week when the temperature may get into double digits.

Be warned that it is (or was when I was last there) VERY limited. But their ordinary ironmongery gives you a much better selection of fasteners and tools than most chandler's.

Respectfully Jeremy Rogers has a lot to answer for. I’m working in the heads. It gets smaller each time I go thru to the well v berth. Designed surely not for anyone over 3 ft tall. Don’t mention it to Concerto, he will start on aboutthe Fulmar and how spacious they are.
Funny

Not surprised to look out the window this morning at the Arrochar Alps and the Cowal Hills with a good dusting of snow. Its not over here yet, friends.

BUT, the Bimini will keep you dry! I prefer my 'cockpit extension' keeps the little bit of warmth in.

Still, rather be on a boat than stuck inland.

She is a classic, enjoy, hopefully you will have a good summer. Blue skies fair winds and all the white horses behind you. Hmm, the latter may not be too good with a Contessa!

Hi.
Done a brief search for Chandlers in or around Glasgow. All I could find was Duncan’s in central Glasgow. I know Gale force sent there now. Any others say heading towards Gourock. I need some mooring lines and the ones I ordered online arnt man enough for shoes laces.

I've found Duncan's very helpful and knowledgeable. I have never visited in person, but I think they will still deliver to Holy Loch Marina.
There's also a small chandlers at Holy Loch Marina, who are also very helpful and knowledgeable.
There are also large and very well-stocked chandlers at Largs and Inverkip. Also a chandler at Rhu, which I've never tried.

Just to add a comment about the chandler at Rhu - called Crhu - the shop has a new owner in the last 6 months but continues to have a good stock of most things that you need. As with all small chandlers, they're limited in the stock that they can carry, but will happily order other items. They also offer a rigging service.
