Anyone know how to judge correct tension in these. The shrouds are attached to a deck mounted plate then the loads are taken through twin tie rods to a strong point on the water line of the hull. They were removed for servicing and have been replaced. It seems a good idea to have some pre load on these to avoid strain on the deck. How much. It would be difficult to apply a measured torque due to friction and access problems.

I'm sure that all you need to do is tension them by hand without pulling the deck in.They should be much stiffer than the wire shrouds and being so short there won't be enough stretch to allow the deck to move.If it does then most certainly the hull is moving as well.
