Do the plastic wheels that you buy to clip onto guard wires to prevent sail chafe work? Is there a way of stopping them sliding along the wire or are they just a tight fit.

Any preference as to make? There seems to be considerable difference in price.........

I 3D print the sail chafe wheels for my Cap Shrouds .... they are basically same as the guardwire ones. They print in two halves that then clip together round the wire.

To prevent them sliding along - you can take a few turns of tape round the wire either side of the wheel ?

I use swimming pool floats on the first two stanchions from the bow (two each side), they work very well.
Just pay attention not to slit your hand open if you use a pointy knife to carve the hole in them.

Thanks for the suggestions. I might try and print some - in PTEG rather than PLA which is less brittle and less likely I think to form sharp shards.
