Ok, I will probably never be asked to produce it, but how much effort is involved in this (online) test? Can I learn this in 30 minutes or is it going to take hours.. and what does it cost to learn what I need to know and take the test?

Very basic. All signs and signals. Did as part of ICC. multiple choice question with a low pass mark to pass.

Yep 30 mins, bought the RYA tutorial book on ebay. Also there sufficient time during the test to refer to it in case you are stuck. Almost impossible to fail!

Not a difficult test as others have said make sure you keep the book on the boat as easy to pass a test but awkward when you come to a signal or sign you have forgot on the inland water ways.

Various schools offer it as a online option mine included it's a bolt on to your ICC .

i did an online mock test and passed by guessing but you can get a poster with all the symbols--- put it next to the computor ---its impossible to fail----my gripe is having to get a powerboat 2 certificate to let me get a cevni to go on the french canals where i could hire a damned big boat with no experience whatsoever-----regards lentenrose
