We have just removed casing from our 16ft 1947 clinker buit Opera. Casing sits on the Hog which screws to the keel. Casing is 3.ft long 2ft high and houses a heavy swing down steel plate. The casing bolts down through the Hog and keel. Any ideas of sealing casing to Hog before bolting down.

Lots of choices here, My dad used to use Denso Tape which is a hessian fabric impregnated with thick sticky green goo, never dries. Good for cases in traditionaly built boats with screwed or bolted joints. I have used it & its good.
Also used Polysulphide sealant.
If its a plywood boat & case you would most likely glue the case in with west epoxy or similar.
