Hi folks

New poster here so be kind 😂.

I’ve been around boats for some time now although looking to import a power boat from New Zealand and obviously need to go down the route of a post construction survey and ce conformity.

Has anyone here done this and could possibly direct me to a consultant who can look after me?

Many thanks

David

… and was that specific model ever CE marked?

It’s vanishingly unlikely that this will be cost effective so unless it’s a treasured vintage vessel, or a modern CE-marked vessel, might want to think again. If you do bring it here, aside from the CE factors, transport, VAT and import duty would be pretty significant too.

I’d sell it in NZ and buy similar here.

Will be built next year in the first quarter.
Better negotiate a contract that includes full RCR compliance then - as could be a very expensive mistake if not.
If the builder already has a lot of experience in this area (building for EU market), and the engines and all kit are already CE marked, might perhaps be feasible. Otherwise ……..

Also remember the VAT at import is on the consignment, not the product. So if you're getting it delivered from New Zealand, you'll pay VAT on new boat cost plus shipping.
