Catamaran sailing

Hi I'm considering swapping my Motorcruiser for a sailing catamaran a Hirondelle MK2
I have sailed mono hulls and apart from one time go on a hobbie cat I don't have any experience
Does anyone have any advice and where I can get some information

Advice? Get this moved to PBO or scuttlebutt, but the only thing you need to remember is to learn, and adhere to, the reefing chart. Hirondelles are pretty viceless, it’ll give you no grief.

Having owned two older design cruising catamarans I will be very surprised if the Hirondell has a reefing chart.

If I were starting out in multihulls now I would be searching Facebook for owners groups, u-tube for videos, Google for anything etc. In my day it was just books, of which there are plenty. Previous owner if they are around. General advice would be to sail conservatively until you get to 'feel' the boat.
Hirondelles were well thought of in their day.

used to have a H2, nice small boats that dont sail too badly to wind

pull the lee daggerboard up and reef down, if you are concerned about flipping her, and check the forecast

Only when over 90 degrees off the true wind. If you do that on a beat when hard pressed, some hard lessons might be learned. However, Hirondelles are gentle creatures, it's a great 1st cat. Be warned, multis are quite addictive.

Most cats struggle to find a marina berth unless foldable. No problem though if you are OK with moorings.

The boat in question is only a baby, it won’t be as hard. Though rule no. 1 of buying a boat is to find a berth before signing up!

Never have a problem in my cat. It is narrow by todays versions though.
