Cat Goin\' aSailing

Wife, real Ships Cat and I are off for a few weeks - first trip of what has been a dismal summer.

For the amateur radio types, I usually get to chat back to UK/Eu from the boat so if you hear a ZL/MM with my first name it is likely to be me, give me a call. Seems 20m 0700Z onwards might be it.

Keep your toes warm by the fires there, and those in the UK North your toes out of the floods.

Thanks Jim.

We will just be around the top of South Island, NZ area - within about 150 miles of home. Unfortunately forecast is 35 knots in the face through the Strait at moment, which can mean gusts of twice that around the bottom of North Island - so just waiting to see what develops.

As an aside, and I didn't know this until today, according to the radio the tides are very strong at the moment due to moon's close approach at the time of the springs. Low tides are down to chart datums they say.

Not sure where the flooding has been in Scotland but maybe the higher than normal tides have had some part in that for coastal areas.

Did you not mean "Stroke the wife well from me and wish the cat..."?
