Casio Watch query (Not the strap tho\')

I've had a Sea Pathfinder (Module 2273) for, I guess, 4 years or so.
Now the backlight has failed. Even though I've had a new battery fitted it's still useless after dark.
I've googled and contacted various repairers (Most of them suggested I contact Casio direct) without success.
So then I emailed Casio Customer service twice without reply.. ( Back in July!)
So just wondered if anyone out there has a contact that might help??

son's sea pathfinder packed up and we returned it to casio who repaired (at acceptable cost) - given watch only c £20 new seemed a fair approach - in practise we suspect they replaced it as it seemed like a new one when it came back and so far so good

Given they are as little as £20 on eBay, you're likely to spend more on a repair than you would pay for a new one. example

OTOH if you have a usable strap you can have mine for the price of the postage.

I've had mine for a few years now - excellent watch. Does anyone know where I can download instructions as I've lost mine and could do with adjusting the tide thingy.

10 seconds with google, etc. will find you the instructions, but I've done that for you /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That said, my previous one lasted 5 years & suffered all sorts of abuse - it was only the strap that broke. Standard Casio guarantee is 2 years, I think.

There was a PBO reader survey a while ago that included a multiple choice question about how much you 'normally' spend on a watch (!?). The first choice was £0-£100 !! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I'd expect a lifetime's suppy for that!

Sorry Gang, but of course thanks for your efforts...
My watch has a "barograph" on the face and that's really the only reason I liked it..
Could never remember to reset the hand on the barometer or when I did it.
(I know I should have entered it in the log!)

So the one I need repaired started out at around £139 RRP but I got a nice deal on it...(Maybe not so nice now!)
Anyway I found some on E bay but they're around £ 95...
The "Module" (or Model) number 2273 defines it at the one I'm after...
I see that it's, on Ebay, also called SPF40-1V.

Tomorrow I'll have a bash at the Casio site again

Good grief! There's more navigational instruments in that watch than I had on our last boat!!

(Instructions here if anyone wants to see).

Very different from my cheap'n'cheerfull one. It does say that it has an electroluminescent backlight, and that it 'loses power over time'. I think Casio is your best bet.
