At the moment, there may be speculation, but has anybody got any hard facts?
If the Thames becomes a no-go area, I'll simply take the Boat elsewhere.
I know this sounds a bit nonchalant, but given the £3K+ mooring fees and three hour round trip along with relatively expensive lift-outs etc, the options are all far cheaper, and still don't prevent trips to St Kats or Limehouse.
I don't mind saving £2500+ p.a. to switch to the River Lea, for example, although the current boat would have to be sold, and replaced with one with a little less airdraft.
The social side of boating is probably the best bit, and one can find that anywhere.
Then the Thames won't see a penny of my hard earnt....
If I had to give up boating tomorrow, I would console myself that £5k+ per annum buys quite a lot of nice holidays.
I can't speak for anybody else, but as much as I love the years we have enjoyed on the River, there are other things in life....
